🔬 New Research Challenges Common Dietary Assumptions 🥑🐟

Recent findings from Petersen et al. (2024) reaffirm that the n-6:n-3 fatty acid ratio in foods is not a reliable basis for making dietary recommendations.


Why? Because the same ratio can result from countless dietary patterns — some of which may be deficient in both essential fatty acids.


✅ Instead, the focus should be on the absolute intake of n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), not just on their ratio in specific foods.
