A significant Codex Alimentarius Update to include PAL

The guidelines for Precautionary Allergen Labelling (PAL) were adopted at the 49th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC49), held in July 2026.

These guidelines create consistent allergen labelling, improve consumer trust, and setting clear expectations for manufacturers and regulators.

IMACE is actively working on this subject through its dedicated Expert Group on Food Allergy supporting its members during this very positive food safety transition.
