Aim of IMACE
IMACE is the International Margarine Association
of the Countries of Europe and regroups 21 national margarine associations.
IMACE represents the joint interests of
the European margarine industry to the political and administrative
authorities of the European Union and other international organisations.
On behalf of its members, IMACE contributes
to create a regulatory framework both at EU and international level
that responds to the needs of the margarine manufacturers.
IMACE enables the exchange of information
between national associations at a technical and legislative level.
IMACE represents its members within other
trade associations and other European business groups

The IMACE statutory bodies are the following :
- General Meeting. Consists
of all the members of the national associations
- Board of Directors. Each member
nominates a Director and at least one Deputy-Director to participate
in the Board. The Director shall exercise executive functions
in one of the member companies of the national association that
nominates him.
- President. The General Meeting
elects a President from among the members of the Board of Directors.
The current President is Mr. Didier Dallemagne– Unilever
Bestfoods NL
- Executive Committee. Out of
its ranks, the Board of Directors appoints an Executive Committee
of 10 company executives with a balanced composition in terms
of company size and geographic representation.
- Council of Experts. Is composed
of the Secretaries General of the national associations, their
technical advisers and the IMACE advisers.
- Advisers are nominated by
the President, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
